Program Description   Student will be introduced to raptors. Student will learn the different types of raptors and how they live in the environment. Students will learn why raptors are important to the environment. Several “live” birds will make an appearance. The birds may include owls, hawks, and falcons.
Program Format   1. Students will be asked what a raptor is.
2. Presentation on different types of raptors.
3. Presentation on the characteristics of raptors.
4. Students will be asked why raptors are important to the environment.
5. Students will be instructed on what to do if they find a wounded birds or animal.
6. Several “live” raptors will be shown and discussed.
7. Students will be able to ask questions.
Objectives   Students will be able to:
1. List five types of raptors
2. Name three distinct characteristics of raptor
3. Explain how raptors live
4. List three reasons why raptors are important to our environment
5. Tell what to do if they find a wounded bird or animal
